I have seen "tagging" on many blogs and this week I was tagged by Tracy to praise our husbands and give 5 reasons why we love them. I think this is the perfect post for Thankful Thursday!
I asked Scott before agreeing to do this, "was it ok to have me focus my post on him." He is very humble and still is uncomfortable knowing that I might stumble someone by "my" feelings and blessings. I pray that does not happen and it encourages anyone who is going through a rough spot in their marriage, to see that with God a marriage is not only resilent but He can and will restore it. God has grown us quickly and we feel blessed beyond measure for the love that is ever present in our marriage today that was missing for 3 yrs of our marriage. If you are struggling in your marriage today or your husband is not "doing" the things you would like or doesn't know God, please reach out to Him and watch God work. Lay it all down at His feet and trust in His promises. I am here to pray with you and guide you through the steps we have taken with God to be where are today. Forgiveness is the first step.
**NOTE: I will share with you all. As you can see above I saw that this one tag as an opportunity to reach out to others who might be in a marriage that is hurting. Please don't be upset if I don't play along with future tags. I'm not one to fill others email boxes with these sort of things. I don't want to look like a sour sport or ruin the fun of others who enjoy this blog game. My commitment to God, myself and to all who read this blog is to encourage us in our growth in Him.
THE RULES: Grab the graphic and insert with these rules, in your post.Give at least 5 reasons why you love your hubby. List more if you want.Tag 5 people (or more) to play along and link to their blogs in your post. Then visit those women’s blogs and leave them a comment on any of their posts.
Tagging the 5 of you:
1: Jenn
2: Kelly
3: Alison
4: Melinda
5: Michelle
5 Reasons why I love my husband: narrowing it down to only 5 was hard for me - but here goes!
#1 Scott's love for The Word, God, Jesus and seeking His will in all things blesses me and our family beyond measure. He is a man of integrity. He is loyal. He is trustworthy. He is a man of honor. He is humble and is gracious! He lives to bring glory to God the Father in all he does. I respect him immensely and because of him in my life, I am a much better woman, wife, mother, daughter and friend. His wisdom and discernment are a constant gift to me and our children!
#2 Scott is a wonderful teacher. First to me and then our children. He has been blessed with the gift to teach and I love watching how God continues to grow him in this area through our home bible study, Sunday School Teaching and his blog that shares the teachings he does here each Monday. You can check it out here. I enjoy watching him bring bible stories alive to our children. I love how God has filled him with a passion to learn more about Him through His word. His love for learning and teaching continually blesses us and encourages us as a family to grow in our walk with Christ!
#3 Scott is a wonderful husband. He has made a commitment not just in words, but in actions to pur out family first! He works hard to provide for us and allow me to be a SAHM. He helps out in any way he can and his first thought is, "how can I bless her today?" I see this lived out every evening when he comes home and takes over with the children. He is eager to hold them, play with them, love on them, read to them, feed them, prepare meals for us as a family, and baths the boys each night and tucks them in to bed with our good-night song and a prayer. Nothing is sweeter than looking out of the kitchen to see him nuzzled on the sofa with 2-4 children all around him getting hugs by Daddy. Our almost 2 yr old is madly in love with his Daddy and that says so much to me! He likes to sit and listen about my day. He enjoys praying with me and encourages me in my walk with Christ!
#4 Scott is a wonderful Father - for all of the reasons and so many more! He is always there to help when a child is sick. He is fine changing diapers and has learned how to make the best of a very stinky situation! He is their greatest cheerleader and fan! His one desire for each of them is to love Jesus and follow Him all the days of their lives - learning how to do this by watching him...their earthly Father. Scott has taught me so much through our journey of adoption. His heart for children is a blessing to our family and any that God is waiting to introduce us to!
#5 Scott is my best friend. There is NO one I would rather be with than him and I cherish the times we get alone. I can count on him to always be there for me - whether physically, spiritually or emotionally. He will always make time for whatever I need. He makes me feel safe and is definitely my covering! He is funny and makes me laugh harder than anyone ever could! He makes me feel special by the way he looks at me, how he notices the little things I have done - whether it be a new hair cut, new pair of jeans, how the house looks at the end of the day, and encourages me so much as the mother to our children. I trust him with my life. I trust that his love for God is greater than it is for me and because of that - I have learned to willfully and joyfully follow his leading and submit to him as the head of our home. Unfortunately for our marriage and Scott I was slow to trust God in this area and it took a toll on us for a while. I'm so thankful God was gracious and merciful with me as I learned to walk by faith in this area. It has been such a blessing to us both. I still have a long way to go - but I am so glad I'm not where I was six months ago! I know he is always praying for me and when I need to be lifted up in any way, he stops whatever he is doing and joins me in prayer! It doesn't hurt that he is really cute!
I am thankful for Scott and can't thank God enough for growing him into the man he has become! Not to mention the man God is growing him to be! What a journey we have been on over the past seven years and really the last 3.5 since coming to Jesus! WOW! Only You, LORD! Only YOU!
I'm so happy to see that some of you have taken the award I have been giving out. Today, I hope all of you who stop by will pick it up as well!
I have prayed about designing a new award to share with friends for a while. I am deeply thankful for the many friends I have met along this journey since entering blogland. Many of you have touched my heart and life in ways that have changed me eternally! I thank you for being a faithful servant and being obedient to the upward calling every time you share a piece of His heart living out in you! I pray that you will share this award with others who have touched your heart by sowing seeds of love into your life! They will know we are His by how we love one another! Let us sow seeds of love throughout the blogging world and touch the hearts of those who come to read what we all share! To HIM be all the glory forever and ever! AMEN!

I truly don't like leaving anyone out when I have been asked to pass along an award. So if you are here today reading my blog and desire to sow seeds of love with me - please copy the award and pass along! Thank you all for blessing me with your words of encouragment, grace, support, prayers and His love! Please leave a comment so we know where all the seeds of love are going :)
Wishing you all a very blessed day! Don't forget tomorrow is Fearfully Fabulous Friday - hope to see you there!

19 Friend's Thoughts:
You are such a beautiful heart blessing.
Jill,
I love this award. I truly think it is beautiful and I love that you include everyone!
I loved your post on your husband. I loved that you said he made you feel safe. That is one of my biggest compliments to my own...he makes me feel safe. I think that is a by product of their commitment to the Lord.
And last...did I win a giveaway? Really? I never win anything?
I loved your TT post...being thankful for our husbands is awesome! You again blessed me with your sincerity! ((hugs)) to you!
Jill,
What a great post! And thanks so much for the book! I didn't even know I was commenting for a book giveaway...which book did I win Andrew Murray or the Valley of Vision? Do you need my address?? :) LOL!
Let me know when we can get together? We need to schedule our next field trip sometime soon anyway.
I loved reading all the sweet things you said about Scott. God has blessed you all greatly for your obedience and faith in HIM alone in so many ways. I'm sure you will bless the hearts of many today as they read your post. Thanks for blessing me with the Godly praise you had for Scott. What an example of a husband fully submitted to God's design and will.
BTW..have I told you I love the new award? God continues using you in mighty ways to encourage, bless and minister to many women...without even leaving your home! God is so good-Always.
Have a wonderful day in the Lord.
Love you my sweet friend,
Stacy
Jill,
I absolutely loved this post. What a special sister in Christ you are. I'm so glad we met through my Writing Nook.
I love the music you have on your blog.
The photos of the bird bath is awesome. You are so lucky to have such beautiful birds visiting your yard. And the colored leaves show up in the photos as well.
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my photos. Oh, the black swampy water is the leftovers from a forest fire.
Blessings for a great day.
Mary
Such a beautiful award you've designed. I loved your post and am so glad you brought up the things you love about your husband. We are supposed to do that! In today's world it's more the norm to husband bash and I really don't like that, so posts like this are refreshing. Happy Thankful Thursday!
Thanks for visiting me and I truely loved reading your post. You are so blessed . . . I look forward to returning soon.
What a lovely post! Your hubby sounds like an amazing man. Years ago, before I was saved, a Christian friend of mine said, "there's nothing sexier than a Godly man." I didn't get it at the time, but when I finally became a Christian and met the man who would become my hubby, I finally did. I feel so blessed to have a man who loves the Lord so much. Looks like you have a pretty special man of God too! Thanks for playing along - and thanks for the award! Blessings!
What a beautiful tribute of thankfulness to your husband! Thank you for sharing your heart and visiting my blog.

....your comment on my blog this a.m. about submission really hooked me -- here's a women who "gets" it! :-) btw... the Liberty Univ. students are back again today -- unsure how Google is sending my way, but sitemeter doesn't lie. May GOD be Glorified!
Happy Thankful Thursday!

I loved the story about your marriage and the struggle you went through, but how God blessed your marriage with more love than ever at the end. It truly inspired me in my own marriage, God bless you for sharing!
What a fantastic, beautiful & wonderfully honest post. Thank you so much!
Finally had a chance to "pop in" and visit your writings. Lovely!
Thank you, again, for your kind words concerning my own blog! I believe God smiles BIG when He sees us encouraging one another on this journey!
May God continue to bless you as you seek His face and share with others what He teaches you while gazing upon Him.
To God alone be the glory... forever n ever n always! :)
Much love in Christ,
Robin
jill, i truly enjoyed reading this post and for some reason my heart was jumping for joy. i guess that's an after effect of how God met me last night in my prayer. i was so happy to have felt God answered my prayer even if i can't see anything yet with my two eyes. and then this morning i read your post about why you love your husband and being sensitive to those in hurting marriages. you know, i can't explain the joy in my heart but somehow you were able to reach out to me in so many ways with just this post.
jill, thank you. i don't know if i'm making sense here but i'd just like you to know that yes, God's using you to reach out to wives out there who's holding on to God's promises of restoration. God bless your good heart. ♥
Awesome post and you have such a beautiful family... Thanks for stopping by today :)
Jill,
This was a warm, wonderful, love-filled post and I loved it. I've seen a few of the 5 Things posts today and it's so wonderful to hear women testify to the love of the Lord in the hearts of their men.
Thanks so much too for your warm words on my post and blog.
Blessings,
Susan
WHat a beautiful tribute to your husband. It's truly great to have been been blessed with an awesome partner in this journey called life. I too can't thank God enough for bringing me and husband together in this partnership called marriage. It may not be perfect but with Him, everything always falls into places.
