WWW - Glory, Peace, Content

When I ponder the following verses and truly allow what God is telling me through them to sink in one thing comes to my mind - His love for me is greater still.

When I am in need - He knows that and is waiting for me to ask for what I need from Him. He is watching that I am not trying to get it for myself. He wants to see that I trust in Him to supply my needs and to allow Him to bless me by giving more than I asked for.

When I go to Him - what He gives me while I wait on Him to supply my needs is peace. Peace not like the worlds, but a kind that is tangible. Peace where my mind can rest. Peace where my heart feels joy, hopeful and calm. Peace where my heart can sing of His great love for me. Peace that He is always with me and never leaves me. Peace that He cares about every detail of my life - not just the big ones. Peace that He wants to handle every detail too. Peace that He will do it perfectly and when He knows it needs to be done...not a moment sooner. Peace that when a trial comes and uncertainty is everywhere in that trial - I can look to Him who knows all and rest in the peace He supplies each moment as I trust in Him to see me and my family through the trial. His peace is perfect! Have you rested in it today?

Ahhhh - to be content! This the true meaning of I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me...that no matter what is going on in your life. No matter how bad things get. No matter how dark the situation may seem. No matter how long you have to endure it. That you are content in your relationship with Christ - knowing with Him nothing is impossible. You can do all things through Him. But in the context that Paul is writing this to us - He was showing us to be content whether you are abounding or struggling. To be content right where God has you - because with Him you can get through it knowing He will supply your every need right on time - perfectly! Paul was saying, "I know how to be content no matter what is going on - in prison - or walking freely around - with plenty or nothing - I am content because Christ is with me and will get me through this season." AMEN!!!!

I personally have learned to be content and not look past today. Getting ahead of God is a dangerous place to be - you won't know if it is His will if you are five steps ahead or even two. God works right here - today - ready to His work planned for you this day. If you begin planning ahead of today too far you might miss out on the plan He wants to set before you. We must let Him be our compass, our road map and our rely on Him to keep us on His path - which is the only way to righteousness. God continues to show me how important it is to be content with our life - waiting on Him to show us and lead us where He wants us to go.

He continues to speak to my heart about praying for each day to be for His glory, that we live in His peace and rejoice in where He has us today. He wants me not to worry about tomorrow and what His plan is for Scott, for me or our family. He wants me to just rest in today and that it is perfectly planned. He wants me to sit back and watch Him work in us and through us. He wants me to enjoy the blessings of today. I am learning each day to do all of this more. We are only promised today.

Live today like it is your last and like no one is watching but God. Live like He is coming back today and you want to be found rejoicing in all that He has already given you - not found worrying about what He has yet to deliver. Go ahead make it a blessed day. God gives you permission to be JOYFUL no matter what is going on - because He loves you!!!!!!

As we go about our day - may we pray that others will know His peace, joy and hope! May we pray for others to rest in Him who are still living under the law - that they will receive His grace and let go of doing anything to please God or try to earn His love. He does -- no strings attached. You and I, no matter how far we stretch the boundaries of our love for Him - His love will always outstretch them and patiently awaits our return, resting in His perfect love for us!

Jill, I needed to read this right now. Thank you for always being there with the right words from Scripture and then sharing what God is teaching you. I seem to need the same lessons.

I occasionally tend to think ahead and then ...worry. But I am choosing to trust the Lord with today. And to know that nothing is impossible with Him. That it's not my responsibility to keep everyone else OK. I'm not God and I cannot.

Thank you for speaking the Truth. Love you and may the Lord bless you and your family.

What a beautiful post.

Contentment is something that I occasionally struggle with. I have only been a believer for 3 years. Being content with what God gives me is something I am learning to do.

Thank you for the reminder today.
