Psalm 103-17

Before we begin this week – if you did not read my post last night called Sunday School…Just for me?  Please read it before this post today.  Thank you!

Olam is a Hebrew word that occurs over 400 times in Hebrew Scriptures.  It is translated as “eternal”, “everlasting”, “forever”, “lasting”, “ever”, or “ancient”.  It refers to the fullness of experience of time and space.  The title El Olam (EL o-LAM), meaning “Eternal God” or “Everlasting God”, appears only four times.  The word is applied to God and His laws, promises and covenant, and kingdom.

Last night after dinner we began our evening devotion time and Scott asked the children what was God’s everlasting promise through Abraham?   Jesus!

And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.
  Genesis 12:3

Through the line of Abraham came Jesus.  A promise made over 4,000 yrs ago still stands true today and will forever!

Sometimes my mind simply can’t comprehend how I am sitting here today saved by His grace and all the ways His promises have changed our lives completely!   Or how He so perfectly selected our 7 adopted children for our family and how they would knit so beautifully together with our biological children.   His ways and thoughts are not our ways – they are much higher than ours. (Isaiah 55:8-9) Because He stands outside of time and it doesn’t change Him!  WOW!   We will never understand all the things and ways of God until we meet Him face to face.

I for one am thankful of that.  I truly don’t think I could handle all the glory of the Lord right now in my flesh that so limits me.  My mind can only think about so much before I am overwhelmed or confused.  My eyes can only see so much before I am over stimulated and distracted.  My ears can only listen and hear so much before I need complete quiet.   My hands and feet can only do so much before I tire out completely.

Being human is quite limiting when you compare us to God.  NOTHING is impossible for Him!   He never slumbers.  Everything about Him endures forever!   He will always protect us, sustain us, care for us, provide for us, and love us!  And the amazing part is that He does all of it altogether all of the time!

I constantly remind myself that although my flesh is so limited – in Christ I can do all things – because He strengthens me.  Phil 4:13.    I know that when I stop trying to do anything and simply come humbly before God asking Him to help and get me through whatever it is – I start to rest and peace overcomes me.  It is all by His grace and only by His grace is this life possible!    He is my all in all and I can never thank Him enough for being such a LOVING and AWESOME GOD!    Who blesses us day in and day out with everything we need right now, right here to live an abundant life in HIM!

I followed through and added my link in the right place. However, I just now realized that I didn't write the name of my post and instead wrote my blog name; sorry. Next time, I'll do it right.

But ...I'm loving this study Jill. I am so glad that God is forever and eternal. His promises remain. I am learning to trust and obey as I study His name.

I loved the video too and your Sunday post was wonderful.

Love you,
Debbie

God is amazing! Where we can't comprehend what God says He will do and who He says that He is but act on it anyways is where our faith and trust in Him are shown and so pleasing to Him! Isn't studying the Word and God's character so comforting and encouraging?
