Monday Morning Reflections - Elohim

Welcome to all joining us for the study of Praying the Names of God.

I could listen to this video all day.   What a beautiful way to begin our time together.   Worshipping His names – how holy is HE!

I sat last night reading the first section of our reading Monday – Elohim (e-lo-HEEM)– God, Mighty Creator and was touched by something that God is speaking to me through words spoken by my husband and his teachings in our home.   God wants to remind us that it is Him who gives, who creates, who makes, who sustains, who blesses, who takes away and who is our Exceedingly Great Reward.    God is all we need.  God will supply all of our needs.  God has already given us everything we need.  Elohim is our authority and sovereign creator.   He is the author and finisher of our faith.

I love how this study opens with Genesis 1:1 – how perfect of a reminder –  “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”   Just as John 1:1-3 reminds us “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”  WOW!  and Amen!

In our lives God is always trying to remind us He is and always will be.  He is constantly trying to show us His glory and grace being displayed in our lives.  He is showing us His mercy every single day.  We who sin are saved by that grace and forgiven by His awesome mercy.

His love is what washes us clean and His power is what sustains us to go on.

In the beginning Elohim.    Meditate upon that today.

Ask yourself, "is He the beginning of my day, and where I go first when I need help, truth, hope, peace, rest, and love?"

My prayer for us today:
Father God, Elohim, You are our all in all.  We are nothing without You.  We thank You for creating the heavens and the earth for us to enjoy.  We thank You for creating man in Your image.  We thank You for creating the oceans that remind us of Your power.  We thank You for creating the stars in the sky which remind us of the vastness of Your love – and how You know them all by name.  You hold them in place.  You alone know every hair on our heads.  You alone created us for Your glory.  Father, we want to see Your glory be displayed in our lives and draw ever closer to You as we begin to grasp exactly who we are worshipping, praying to and seeking each day.  Father, we want to use this time to learn more about You.  We want to spend this time worshipping You for who You are.   We want to spend this time bringing others with us to see You as God Almighty and the creator of ALL things.   Father, Your name is power and beauty.

Elohim, Mighty One, you made everything out of nothing, imposed order on chaos, gave birth to beauty, and called it all good.  Help us to know you as the one true God who created everything and everyone, the one who has placed us on the earth for a purpose – to magnify your name.  I pray all of this in Your Son’s most blessed name. Amen!

Today we are asked to study the name Elohim and answer the four questions.  If you are joining in with the study – maybe you can answer them as your blog post to share and link up.  All that I ask each Monday is that your post is related to how this study is touching your heart and what God is speaking to you through learning more about His names.   I am excited to hear how God is speaking to each of you and what it means to understand God as Elohim

I will be posting throughout each week sharing what the daily studies are speaking to me.  You can link up any post about this study during the week here.   If you would like to read all any of my past posts on Praying the Names of God - simply click on that label below.

Blessings Jill...I was watching all night for when this would post (lol).

I could listen all day to both these videos and your precious reflections!

ELOHIM...the beginning to my day...yes, O yes LORD, be first in ALL, first in my day, first in my life, first in my love, first for my help, first for my counsel!

I love your prayer!!! AMEN!

Not linking today, but hope to...
sometimes answering these questions becomes a difficult task but well worth the time.

I'm so looking forward to PRAYING in HIS NAME! Hope you are feeling better!

Jill, I've not been online much and yet I was given the book for a gift. I was so excited to be able to participate with you. I even read the first chapter but haven't had much time to post yet (except for my request for prayer).

He is Elohim; creator of all. I hope to link up tomorrow maybe. On Saturday morning, I awakened to the sound of rain on the roof. I sat outside under a tin roof on a stool and wrapped myself in a blanket and prayed. After a while, I saw a rainbow. It was a reminder to me that He sees and knows all. He is the creator of all; the sun, moon, stars, rain and even rainbows. How awesome is that?

Love you,
Debbie

Needed to here today that HE is all I need. Busyness & uncertainty are not a good combo. Thank you Jesus that you are all I need today and everyday!
