Quietly I sit…

Listening to God after watching these videos this morning.   Listening for His soft voice that is calling me to die completely to self and live completely in HIM!

I pray you will listen to both videos – share if you will with me what they speak to you.

Is Christianity something you do or is who you are?

What does your life say to those around you?

I watched another video this morning that I am waiting for my husband to watch before I share it, because I want his wisdom and discernment to know it is 100% truth.    It was so deep and passionate that as I walk away from writing this I am going to be real still and quiet before God – letting Him have His way with me completely.

Luke 9:23-25 says, And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it. For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?

I’ll have a second post up in a few hours with two more videos I pray you will share too.   May you each have a blessed day!   Praying for each of you this morning!

7 Friend's Thoughts:

Just listened to the first one. I've asked some of the same questions. Are we really doing what he says? Francis' challenge to read the Bible and look at our church and see if we are doing what he calls us to do - wow. I don't have to look at my church, though, I can just look at myself and see the huge gap.

I was tickled by Jackie's statement that his church would be bigger than Jesus' church if he were to have one in the same area. Good way of illustrating how church can be something other than what calls us to be. Great video!

Great thoughts, to me Christianity is who I am, I am a sinner saved by Jesus Christ, thus making me a Christian, to be Christ like is my goal in this life, hugs Barbara

Prayed for you today.

Francis Chan is so passionate...he did actually leave his church in Semi Valley and is starting something new...he desires to truly live the gospel...the way we all should.

It's so hard, especially in America, where everything is right at our fingertips (good and bad). We have to wake up every morning and die to self in order to be beaten into submission for the glory of God...sounds harsh, but true.

That's why these mega-churches are growing at crazy rates, nobody wants to hear the truth (the hard truth)!

Love you!

Jill, I am finally getting to sit down and listen and watch these videos. I am amazed that when the Lord is dealing with me, I find I can't escape His lessons. I just wrote about 'love one another' on Heart Choices today! I'm also in the midst of studying "A Makeover of the Heart" and this week the focus is on 'a committed heart'.

Jill, my life has been turned upside down in the last six months. I am learning to let go of all material possessions. I'm learning though that we can't take it with us. And this isn't my real home. I want to live with an eternal perspective and not be so overly consumed with where I live and what my home and possessions look like.

My journal is filled with all that's going on. I cannot really blog about some of it; at least at this time. I've started being a bit more open but we'll see in time.

I'm so thankful to have you for a friend. I told Lisa Shaw when I met her that I believe you and I Jill are at a similar place in our walk with the Lord. These are the things that I am learning too.

I love you friend.

Love,
Debbie
