pre·ci·sion/priˈsiZHən/
Noun:
- The quality, condition, or fact of being exact and accurate.
- Marked by or adapted for accuracy and exactness: "a precision instrument".
Synonyms:
accuracy - exactness - exactitude - preciseness – nicety
Now, that we know the definition of the word – let’s talk about how it relates to God, and us.
First, God is precise in all He does. God, makes no mistakes. Not one. Ever!
God, perfectly and precisely formed each of us in our mother’s wombs. For a purpose.
God’s plans for each of us are perfect.
Yet, somewhere along the way – we begin to doubt HIS precision in guiding and leading us.
Because His plans don’t align with our own. So we blame God, instead of seeking God, and humbling ourselves to be sure what we desire matches with His for us. We stop thanking Him and praising Him for knowing what is best for us.
You see there is this amazing love story woven through every word He has spoken and written – one that promises all of us that whatever we need, no matter the circumstances, He is on our side! His grace is sufficiently given to us.
Let’s turn this story around a bit.
What about us? Why are we really here? How can God use us?
Like a precise tool in a Master’s hands. It is that simple.
Just like a surgeon must have the perfect tools to perform the delicate task at hand and work precisely. So are we in God’s hands.
The tool in a surgeon’s hands does not argue. Nor does it wiggle trying to get loose from his grip.
It was created for one purpose – to be used precisely and accurately to cut through tissue to take out what is not good, to heal what is broken and to fix what needs mending.
So are we to God.

The tool is not complimented after each surgery. Not one loved one walks past the surgeon to his tools, and thanks them. It has done nothing but filled it’s purpose – to be used precisely by the one using it.
And so it should be with us. We are the tools in which God has created to be used by the Master to shine light on what is not good, to heal what is broken, and to fix what needs mending. Not for our glory but His!
God created us to love. God created us to be loved by Him. God created us to be tools of love. God created us to use His love – NOT our own to do what ONLY He can.
Shine light on what is not good, to heal what is broken, and to fix what needs mending.
It is HIS perfect, precise, accurate, pure, holy, never-changing, un-ending, and abundant love that will do the work.
We simply need to yield, submit, and humble ourselves to be the tool in the Master’s hands.
Precision can’t happen with resistance. Nor can it be exact if we are trying to change the plans, the path and the way.
It can only happen when we are still, trusting and obeying the One who precisely created us for one purpose – to let His love in us and work through us.
It can only happen when you allow God, into your heart and life completely to precisely do the work in you that only He can do – to remove what is dark, broken and needs mending. He does it with such precision – you can rest assured your life will never be the same!
“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony,” Colossians 3:12-14.

3 Friend's Thoughts:
Wow Jill!!! This is an amazing post! I want to be a tool in the Master's hand!
I like how you said that the tool doesn't get the praise...but the skilled surgeon. That is important to remember when we are feeling like we deserve the praise of others for something we have done! WRONG! It is not us...but the Master!
I will carry this mental picture with me Jill. I am of no use unless the Master is using me!
Thanks for posting.

Gasp! Wow! What a great object lesson to help sink in the fact that it is NOT us who can do one. Stinking. Little. Thing. It is ONLY JESUS and his finished work that conquered the law of sin and death.... It is ONLY JESUS and his finished work at the cross that can provide love for others. We prove every day that we fail and can never live up to any holy standard. But with faith in the finished work at the cross, God's grace covers our failures and His grace, mercy and love can pour fourth, as we are the tools in His perfect hands.
Amen!
Love you! Awesome truths today!

I am so glad I checked to see if I missed any of your posts. This is fantastic! I worked in surgery for a time as a cardiovascular nurse. So I know about precision in surgery and the specific instruments and technique required. You're so right. Each instrument is never thanked. The surgeon gets all the glory. Our Lord is the One who is get all the glory as He uses His instruments (us) for His purposes. It's amazing that He chooses to use us in His master plan.
So blessed to read this one.
Love you,
Debbie
